Guitar Strings Acoustic Guitar Strings Acoustic

There is nothing quite like having a good acoustic guitar, with good strings and the right accessories. It will sound great, be in tune and give you hours of playing enjoyment any time you like!

The process of how to buy an acoustic guitar can be rather confusing and complicated than it really needs to be. When you get right down to it, there are only a few criteria required to fulfill in order to get the right instrument.

Also, the guitar accessories are often overlooked in the buying process, which is a shame. Strings, a humidifier, the right picks, a capo, a tuner and a metronome are some of the essential items for anyone serious about owning and playing an acoustic.

The biggest dilemma in this process is getting a good guitar without spending a lot of money. In the event that the new guitarist loses interest you do not want to be stuck with an expensive investment that goes unused.

On the other hand, if you buy a cheap instrument, you will find it difficult to play, terrible sounding and hard to keep in tune. It will likely also be hard to tune in the first place.

One solution to this problem is to buy a good used guitar. Many people set out to learn how to play, but become discouraged and have one just lying about. If you can find one of these, the owner or parent will possibly be quite willing to sell it at a huge discount.

A trip to a reputable music store is in order first, however. Unless you already are knowledgeable in the first place, make the effort to educate yourself by talking to someone who truly knows what they are talking about. You can then take this information and make an educated decision.

The strings and other accessories are also quite important. If you have heavy or medium gage strings on your guitar, your fingers will hurt more than necessary and will tire quickly from pressing the strings against the fretboard.

Light strings are a great way to get started playing. They are easy on the fingers and sound great. The only real drawback is that they do not have a lot of volume, nor do they last very long. This is not usually a problem for somebody just beginning though. Soon, you will be playing some great guitar chords, some nice lead guitar and be having a lot of fun.

The humidifier is also critical, and often overlooked. Without a humidifier, the wood can easily bend, bow and crack. The finish may also crack and develop ugly lines on the body. The neck has a great deal of pressure on it from the tension in the six strings, and can easily bow from drying out.

A hardshell case is also essential. This protects the instrument from the elements, having things dropped on it and so on. A gig bag is nice, but not nearly as protective as a hard shell case.

Randy Hough has a website: http://PlayHotGuitar.com that talks about the guitar tuner.
